What does Veltara mean by “profit”?
Contribution profit — revenue after discounts and refunds, minus product costs, shipping, fulfilment, payment fees and your configured variable costs. It's deliberately not accounting net profit, and fixed overhead stays out unless you explicitly allocate it.
What if I don’t have all my costs?
Enter what you know and leave the rest blank. Veltara labels estimates and missing data clearly — it never silently treats an unknown cost as zero, and it won't show a contribution figure it can't support.
Can Veltara change anything in my store?
No. Veltara connects with read-only access to your products, inventory and orders. Findings tell you what to investigate — nothing ever changes your prices, products or store automatically.
Does AI calculate the financial numbers?
No. Every figure comes from a deterministic, decimal-safe calculation engine — the same inputs always produce the same outputs, and every finding links to its full calculation. Your financial data is never sent to an AI model.
How much history can I analyse?
Veltara syncs up to 60 days of Shopify orders and compares each period against the one before it — the Free plan covers the last 7 days, paid plans up to 28. Historical margins use effective-dated costs, so today's inventory cost is never assumed to apply to past sales.
